care
for
your
hair
You just got fresh new extensions and you feel like a new person. There’s just one problem— how do you maintain the silky freshness you got in the salon?! Here are some of our trusted tips and tricks that are bound to get you flawless results.
WASHING
1
Good shampoo and conditioner is KEY. as stylists, we don’t just recommend products to make an extra buck, we actually want your hair to be as healthy as possible. We have years of experience with products and will only sell you what we trust.
2
Move gently in soft, circular motions on your scalp to get the best and safest clean for your extensions.
3
Don’t scrub your hair vigorously, wash it THOROUGHLY. There’s a big difference! If you want to learn how to wash correctly, you can always ask me while we’re at the sink.
4
Pay attention to temperature. Hot water WILL dry your hair out, so be careful! I like to use lukewarm water so you’re still comfortable, but you’re not drying out your hair.
5
Leave in conditioner and dry shampoo are your best friends! I aim for one leave-in treatment a week and use my dry shampoo as needed. You can make your day-five hair look like day one with the right products.
BRUSHING
1
Brush your hair thoroughly 2-3 times a day and every time before a wash or getting your hair wet. This will help protect your investment (your hair!) and make it last.
2
Hold one hand to secure your hair and start brushing from the tips. This makes sure you aren’t tugging too hard on your extensions.
3
Stiff brushes = damage. Use a wet brush or a bristle brush instead. These have softer bristles that won’t tug too hard at your hair. Ask me for one if you don’t have one!
4
ALWAYS brush between your rows. This may seem like a no-brainer to some, but you need to brush in between your rows of hair! This prevents tangling and matting and will make your hair last longer.
PRO TIPS
1
Hydration treatments will make your hair + extensions silky and soft. Aim for these once a week. I have many high-quality options in stock, grab one on the way out!
2
Before going to bed tie your hair in loosely tied braids to help avoid tangles and keep your style longer.
3
NEVER go to bed with wet hair + make sure it’s dry, ESPECIALLY at the root of your row!
4
Before physical activity (gym, working out, etc.) Make sure to secure your hair well into a braid or loose ponytail.
5
When putting your hair up, make sure you loosen the wefts a smidge to prevent too much tension!
